Description: New York-based Diller Scofidio + Renfro is an interdisciplinary studio that fuses architecture with visual and performing arts. Its work encompasses architectural and urban commissions, temporary and permanent site-specific installations, multimedia theatre, electronic media and print work. Commissions include MoMA, the Whitney Museum and LACMA.
A smart and chic subversion of the chandelier’s classical branch and pendant form, Light Sock is comprised of a mesh bag filled with Swarovski crystals. A single light source buried within intensifies the crystal’s natural light prisms, and Light Sock expands to take on the shape of its content.

Description: Inspired by the aquatic, boat-shaped diatom algae, Navicula is crafted from strong, multi-layered bamboo plywood creating a natural skeletal skin. The tensile form is lit internally by an LED strip which emits a soft upwards glow of light. Navicula is ideal for a dining table, lounge, foyer, reception or as a sculptural lighting feature. It comes as a kitset for you to enjoy the process of making a light yourself. The light easily assembled via an online video and paper instructions included in your kitset. Assembly service is available at a 10% surcharge upon request.
Navicula won a Gold Best award in 2016 and a Good Design award in 2017. Navicula was featured in the Grand Designs New Zealand 'Floating Beach Bach' in 2020.
